LGBT Tech (The LGBT Technology Institute) have released a new informational resource on their website.

Encryption: Essential to the LGBTQ+ Community, an infographic, details the vital role end-to-end (E2E) encryption plays in protecting LGBTQ+ individuals’ online data. Thanks to a grant from the Internet Society, the infographic illustrates the ways E2E encryption allows LGBTQ+ individuals to connect to online communities and resources without compromising their personal information.

To commemorate the release, LGBT Tech hosted a virtual conversation between the organization’s Executive Director Christopher Wood, LGBT Tech’s Head of Content Coordination and Development Dee Williams and the Internet Society’s Project and Policy Advisor Anna Higgins. Together they discussed the importance of E2E encryption in maintaining data privacy and why that matters to LGBTQ+ individuals and communities.

Strong encryption protects everyone, especially the LGBTQ+ community, by keeping personal data safe and secure. As an organization that supports strong encryption and the protection it offers our communities, LGBT Tech is proud to finally present this resource to the public.
